Online Yoga Classes and Teacher Training:
The Viniyoga Approach
Most modern yoga teaches you what to do. We teach you why it works.
Phoenix Yoga offers live online yoga classes, courses, and teacher training rooted in the Viniyoga approach: a precise, evidence-grounded system that treats breath as the foundation of practice, adaptation as a principle, and philosophy as the framework everything else hangs from.
Whether you are a practitioner wanting to understand your own practice more deeply, or a teacher looking for the depth your training didn't give you, you are in the right place.
For Practitioners
If you have been practising yoga for some time and sense that something important is missing from your understanding, our work is designed for you.
Our live online classes bring the Viniyoga approach to group practice: breath-led, intelligently sequenced, and adapted to real bodies rather than idealised ones.
For those who want to go deeper, The Foundations of Yoga: Ancient Principles in Practice is a live online weekend intensive exploring why yoga works the way it works. The philosophy, the breath, the sequencing logic that most classes never explain. Next cohort: 4-5 October 2026.
For Teachers
If your training gave you sequences but not the reasoning behind them, you are not alone.
Revitalise Your Yoga Teaching (€37) is a short course introducing a clearer framework for practice design. It is a good place to start if you are not sure where the gap is.
For teachers who want to go further, Advanced Study in the Viniyoga Approach is a 60-hour course exploring intelligent practice design, breath-led sequencing, and the principles that make yoga work as a system rather than a sequence of poses. Next cohort: November 2026.
For those who want to teach yoga properly from the ground up, or who feel their existing training left them underprepared, our GOYA-accredited 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training builds the complete picture. Starting January 2027.
Why the Viniyoga Approach?
The Viniyoga approach provides a framework for designing yoga practices that respond to the individual and develop clarity of mind over time.
Adaptable by design: built around you, your body, your breath, your needs. Real people: not just the hypermobile or high-performing. Not a style. A system: structured, purposeful, and rooted in the philosophical foundations of yoga rather than trends.
"The point isn’t the pose. The point is what it does for the person."

Read our writing
Kate writes about what yoga actually is, how it works, and why the explanation so rarely survives the journey from teacher to student. Precise, evidenced, occasionally blunt.
